If our calculator shows your target is unreachable even with a perfect 100% final, you have several options. Ask your registrar about:
Can I retake this course or test?
Many schools allow grade replacement (the new grade replaces the old) or grade forgiveness (both count, but only one toward GPA). Deadlines vary widely; check your department or registrar's handbook.
Does my school offer extra credit?
Extra credit can raise your course grade above 100%, sometimes enough to reach your target. Ask your professor when extra work must be submitted—policies vary.
What's a pass/fail or audit option?
If available, converting to pass/fail means passing with any grade above ~60% (you need to confirm the threshold). Auditing means no grade appears on your transcript, but you don't get course credit.
Can I dispute a grade or ask for a regrade?
If you believe work was marked unfairly, request a regrade before any deadline (usually 1–2 weeks after grades are posted). Bring specific concerns; professors are not obligated to raise grades, but errors do get corrected.
Should I withdraw from the class?
Withdrawal deadlines are strict and appear on transcripts (usually marked W). Missing the deadline means you cannot drop; the course counts as F if you stop attending. Confirm your school's date with the registrar before deciding.
